Roses thrive with regular pruning beginning in the early Spring until Winter.
Cut back the dead wood. If it is brown on the inside of the cut, it is dead. If it's green, it is still alive.
Get rid of criss-crossing branches to allow for branches that reach out toward the sky. This can help to promote more growth and reduce disease.
Prune any thin or weak branches.
Clean up well afterwards to reduce pests and disease.
Once a bloom deadens, deadhead or prune to the next nodule to allow for more blooms.
